Malcolm's Investiture
Added By: Mark Fagg -04th August 2014 12:34
A quick update on former team member Malcolm Wright.
On 18th July Malcolm attended Windsor Castle. Malcolm, who was awarded an MBE in the New Year's Honours List received his award at a ceremony known as an Investiture. This was one of around 25 Investitures held on average each year. The majority happen in the Ballroom at Buckingham Palace, but others take place at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, in the Waterloo Chamber at Windsor Castle which is where Malcolm received his, they also occasionally take place at Cardiff Castle in Wales. Malcolm was presented his MBE by the Queen herself, although The Prince of Wales and The Princess Royal also hold some Investitures on behalf of Her Majesty. There are approximately 120 recipients at each Investiture, and recipients are each able to invite three guests, Malcolm's wife and two children to witness the ceremony. The music is provided by an orchestra from one of the Bands of the Household Division.
The team would like to congratulate Malcolm again on this well deserved recognition for 40 years service with Her Majesty's Coastguard.
